Description: “Very rare Southeast Asian bronze rain drum table. This antique tribal table was used by the Karen people of Northern Burma and Laos. Once a year at the end of the dry season they would ring them to bring the rain out of the clouds. Since frogs come out of hibernation in the first heavy rain that is how it became known as a “Frog drum” or “Rain drum”. Covered with concentric circles on the top and sides the drum features very intricate and detailed designs and patterns.
