VINTAGE HEDDON PAL 3151, 5' STEEL ROD, /PAPERS, /SOFT CASE, NEW OLD STOCK L@@K

Up for auction a nice 1950 HEDDON NO.3151  "PAL" 5 FT., ONE-PIECE STEEL CASTING ROD, MEDIUM ACTION, WITH DETACHABLE HANDLE.  The No.3151 was James Heddon's Sons' most popular steel casting rod, first offered in 1933 and selling for over 25 years. This post-war example was built in JUNE of 1950, as evidenced by the "6-0" date code written on the rod shaft. Heddon's Cleo Hanley has handwritten "#3151 - 5' - M", just above the ferrule. On the opposite side of the shaft is stamped "HEDDON PAL".  Reel seat carries the 1933 Patent numbers granted to Heddon for the handle design, while underneath the seat is also stamped "Heddon Pal". Rod comes equipped with detachable offset handle, gunmetal guides, solid bronze ferrule, adjustable reel seat with trigger, hand-checkered solid walnut foregrip, solid cork Tournament grip, enameled bamboo-like finish, and famous red butt cap.  Rod is in near mint condition. Tip section is the correct length. All wraps are solid and complete. All guides, tip top,
ferrule and butt cap are excellent. Solid walnut foregrip and solid cork grip are extremely nice.   It comes with the original guarantee and the original matching soft case.  A beautiful post-war rod from Heddon, all original and complete.
