Vintage Orchard Industries Model 1508 8 Foot Fly Rod
If you are a collector of vintage fly rods, please read on.   This is an unused Orchard Industries Model 1508 8 foot fly rod probably manufactured of tubular fiberglass in the 1950's.
A rod that has never been fished.  A rod that has never felt the touch of a reel.  A rod that has only been out of the tube 5 or 6 times in decades.
The condition is pristine.
I was given in the rod in 1978 by the purchaser, who intended to begin fly fishing, but then never made cast 1.   I am an avid fly fisherman, but never elected to  use this rod, so the rod has sat in my fly rod rack in its tube for 50 years.
The package includes the rod, the original fabric sleeve and the original cardboard tube.  The rod and fabric sleeve are pristine, however, the cardboard tube and its metal ends have faded and added patina with age.
I understand Orchard Industries rods are not at the top of the vintage rod food chain, but there is likely not another Model 1508 available anywhere in this condition.
