Vintage Rhythm Band, Inc. Bongo/Congo Drum 1960's Handcrafted Hecho en Mexico
22 inches tall
7 inch playing surface
7 3/4 top diameter
5 inch bottom diameter
The drum plays nicely and in decent tune for its age and use.
As you can see from the pictures it has many scratches and blemishes from years of playing.
Two kinds of wood make up the body of the drum. This is done for enhanced looks and different densities of the wood bring out different sounds.
The top is made up of a kind of raw hide not sure what breed.
Yes this is still a playable drum.
I am told it was made in the 1960's sometime, or maybe older than that.
