Vintage & classic, gorgeous WRIGHT and McGILL "GRANGER SPECIAL" BAMBOO FLY ROD, complete with factory Sock & Alloy Tube, and still in excellent overall condition for use or display. Rod is an 8'6" of four (4) pieces: a three piece, 4 WT.  Fly Rod rod w/ spare tip of course. Rod is all of perfectly matched, honey gold color with dark ink imprint reading "Wright & McGill"... "Granger Special" just above the natural Cork Grip. Original w/ factory plastic wrap still intact and legible on grip. (See Photos) dark. The Reel Seat is either nickel or chrome plated, screw knob tightens it down from back end, but is internally "stickey" after 70 years of being set aside.(Cannot be seen, but most probably from light corrosion on internal threads we'd guess. Easily remedied by turning knob each way, bit by bit, after introducing a light lubricant, until full travel is restored.) Reel Seat has a 1938 date & patent number as well as "Made By Wright & McGill Rod Co... Denver, Co. U.S.A." Sock has a few insignificant stains, the Alloy Tube has typical scuffed exterior from storage & travel, but the Fly Rod appears to have only rarely been assembled, let alone used on-stream! **PLEASE NOTE: This vintage, 70 year old, GRANGER SPECIAL 4WT FLY ROD has been re-listed due to a non-paying bidder. This beauty features factory original rod glues, finishes, and wraps. It is most probably in need of TLC prior to display once again, rather than an immediate fishing Season on-stream. Purchaser luckily could not open reel seat far enough to add his modern reel and start fishing! I do NOT recommend immediately taking a 70 year old rod onstream without refurbishment & TLC.
